First off, you are looking for a bodyshop. A consulting shop. You would be the consultant if you are hired they would be the consulting firm.
There is a website called http://www.desicrunch.com/ (Desi Crunch) that as reviews of most of Indian Consulting shops. Reviews are posted by individuals themselves so they would be reliable.
Other than that you can look on Immigrationportal.com and search the name of the firm you are planning to join to check if there are any bad reviews.
You have to be prepared to handle your job as a consultant and your job in handling your employer. There would be struggle every step of the way. Basics like giving paperwork tied to Immigration like H1, 140, labor is a big task. Mostly they dont want to share even xerox copies so that it becomes almost impossible for you to either switch jobs or retain priority dates. Expect to work at a much lower rate than what you would get as a permenant employee directly working for an American company. Expect to move across the country every few months from project to project, unless you are really really in demand and can get projects in city for longer times. Do not expect moving expenses. You are on your own. Whenever you quit, expect to miss your last 1 or 2 paychecks. They will come up with some excuse not to pay you. If you quit and if there is any bad blood between you and your employer, do not expect any letter of experience that you can use for future EB2 or EB3 Greencard petitions. They wont give you that. If they hire the Immigration lawyer, you will most likely never talk to the lawyer directly. It will be thru your employer only. And information will be presented to you in a way that makes you feel in bad shape and more dependent on the employer. "Your labor is in trouble". "there is an inquiry on your H1, 140". "Lawyer needs another 5,000 to respond to your inquiry or RFE which we would be more than happy to deduct from your paycheck".
If you want to go thru all this, then yes, desi consulting firms would work for you.

Obama with his sense-less economic policies, trying to separate Main Street from Wall street. Government needs to seriously lure the investors to the market , cut capital gains and taxes, take off protectionist hats and recover the economy. If it is infact true that Eb2 India can benefit from unused numbers in EB1 (ROW+India+China+Mexico+Phillipines), it will be great news!! I
I had estimated that Eb2India pending applications (with PD earlier than or equal to Dec31, 2003) are probably about 4,900. This is almost 1.75 years worth of EB2India quota. If there is no spillover, then someone with Dec31, 2003 PD would have to wait at least till mid FY10 to get their GC. However, if there is spillover (especially from EB1 ROW considering that EB1India may not have much left). It will all depend on how much of this spillover will go to Eb2China and how much to EB2 India.

first - glad you liked my little skit / comedy show, Arman asked me to write a speech, I don't think that was quite what he had in mind when he asked me to speak :D
That was actually a toned down version of my skit :D I took out many of gags and would have loved to put more in.
I hope that a video will be posted, the crowd reaction was fantastic, at least that's what it sounded like from the stage. I had so many people coming up to me after. I've still not quite come down from it. It was fun to deliver too.

On the rally I saw lots of positive reactions, and just one negative reaction, and I think that he could not read or just assumed illegal, he called out "it will never happen". Even if we had signs that said "We are legal" some would still assume that we were undocumented because they would think that we were only claiming not to be criminals since crossing the boarder without presenting oneself for inspection is technically a civil offense I think. If we all wore suits the mistake would have been made less. The undocumented issue is so embedded in the public's minds.
Signs do need to be more brief.
The anonymity of a forum alias is not a good thing I think. Although the aliases are often cute. Some people called and asked if they had to give their names at registration. The boggy man will not get us! Big brother is not watching, remember he can only afford $2 for name check, so he cannot afford prospection glasses. Also it is handy to know people's names.
Yes we are mostly Indian and mostly Indian and Chinese have really bad delays. But it is unhelpful refer to Indians and Chinese joining forces, or this being an Indian org. etc. I put a lot of effort into trying to show my face in places to make the point that we are not just Indians and Chinese.
(Being a minority Anglo Saxon here I also put a lot of effort into emphasizing dropping country quotas.)
I wore a suit, 3 piece, yes my shirt was sweaty, but that was not caused by the rally it is was my crazy schedule of back to back meetings, and running around logistics organizing. Ironically I rarely wear a suit at work.
Maybe holding a few signs with our job titles would make the point. I think that would have helped reporters pick people out for interviews.
I think that Aman learnt that he needed at least 2 personal assistants on the day.

This makes no sense to me. 300K LC was pending @backlog centers and all of them have PD 2005 and earlier. Non RIR was processed at the end and 90% of them are EB3. Considering 50% ROW, at least 100K EB3 ROW LCs out there with PD 2005 and earlier. And then comes the PERM LCs. At least another 50K EB3 ROW PERM LCs with PD 2005 out there. With limited EB3 ROW available visa each year (140K total, after retrogressed countries and spill over etc, not more than 40K each year), I see no reason for USCIS to move ROW to current.
According to attorney Ron Gotcher Eb2 India will move up in coming months and EB3 ROW (Rest Of the World) will be current very soon. In that case, the excess EB3 ROW numbers will go to heavily retrogressed countries. This attorney's prediction is 100% correct for the April VB.

I went to a wine shop and was shocked to see cartoon of Ganesha used on the bottle of India Pale Beer. I am not a religious person but this thing made me nervous. Please let me know how this can be protested.

A lot of people act as if their God / Gods need their protection. My friends think about that before getting upset about these issues. Do the Gods really need your protection? or is it just your ego thats being hurt? Would Ganesha (in this case) be hurt by being on the beer bottle? Does the picture infact resemble him? has anybody seen Ganesha? I mean, this is 21st century and we have to think rationally before becoming sentimental over these issues. So long as you get hurt over these there will be people to insult you. Believe me my friend no human can ever hurt / insult a God (if there is infact one). so why bother? Maintain your personal relationship with Ganesha in your prayer and let him deal with such insults in his way. The only reality you will ever know is your neighbuor. Live and let others live life to the fullest and dont let religion / religious idease dictate your attitude towards this world. next time you see the beer, buy it and drink it if you enjoy alcoholic beverages.

After taking the worldwide demand into account, it is determined that as a result of the China-mainland born and India per-country limits only 8,100 of the total available Employment Second preference numbers would be used in that quarter. In this instance, the otherwise unused 3,500 numbers could then be made available to China-mainland born and India regardless of their per-country limits. Should that occur, the same cut-off date would be applied to each country, since numbers must be provided strictly in priority date order regardless of chargeability. YES, please do not post any info (about deportation) until it belongs to you, It may all be rumours and single biggest proof is that no one has approcahed IV with any real stories .......................
