If there are no more new EB applicants, we should see all pending apps to get approved in a year or two max. The 4 current categories now are EB1 ROW, EB1 India/China and EB2 ROW. If there are 140K apps coming in every year from these categories, we'll never see any movement for EB2/EB3. Anybody know the average number of applicants the last few years from these categories? Yes and no. It depends on the customer service representative or if you take infopass, it depends on the VO. You generally know when your Attorney files for G 28 because you actually sign the G 28. I couldn't confirm it but from what I understand, the dual intent will no longer be valid on H1 ie A H1-B holder cannot have an immigrant intent. Does that mean, they cannot file for a GC, while on H1? Also, as consulting would be severely restricted, how many of the H1s will be able to find Full-Time Jobs?
As we read more into the Bill, the 'hidden' intent is becoming clear..

a) Call USCIS and submit a service request to expedite the process.
b) Fax NSC with a request to expedite the process based on humanitarian ground.
c) Wait.
Called USCIS on friday and asked them to expedite since i can lose by job. current ead expires on sept 5 th and filed renewal on june 24th. I see so many cases getting approved with much later dates.
Any sugestions on what steps to follow?

If one is not able to pay it it goes to the collection agency or state or charitable trust. All these features are free for Illegals. So better have insurance.
As per obama's new rule, the company will pay 2/3 of the insurance and you will have to pay 1/3 of the insurance. The company will get the amount back as tax credit. In california the laid off person has to pay $100 for insurance and the rest will be paid by the company.
Regarding EAD you are in Status and you can apply for disability insurance from the state. your husband can work in EAD.
Don't stress yourself. Layoff is common these days.

I have a same question regarding travel on existing AP when AP renewal is pending. According to the statement on the form, we can't travel.
I had asked this question to my Attorney and they said we could Travel on EXISTING and VALID AP even when the Renewal is pending. Make sure you have the Courier Receipts and the Copy of I-94 with you before you travel.Please take this Advise at your Risk.Contact yr Attorney to what he/she says.

I'm not sure about the usefulness of this poll? If you look at the percentage of people applied on 2nd July, it is close to 70%. Assuming some error in the polling percentage, this poll indicates that atleast 50% of people have appplied already on 2nd July. As per the press reports, USCIS has received around 55000 applications on 18th July. That means another 55000 people only are going to apply by 17th Aug making a total of 110,000 plus minus 20,000. I do not believe this number and the poll. Any arguments here?

I have applied for FOIA during Oct 2007. No response yet. Just checked the status. Thank you very much for the link. I did not know it existed earlier. Do you happen to know how I can change the address because I have moved ? I called the number they listed for FOIA on reciept notice. The asked me to call the regular USCIS number to update the address. The person who answered the regular USCIS customer service had no Idea about reciept notices starting with NRC. Any solution for this?
