It's still beats the pants off anything windows...we're just used to everything working so well it's easy to critique.
That's really my point. Apple has set the bar high for itself. If I bought a Windows CE phone, I'd expect to have problems. But few Apple products in the last decade have had so many highly publicized issues as iPhone 4. Notice there isn't much press about iPhone 3GS issues or iPad issues or Mac Mini issues. Apple usually produces produces with great usability and high reliability. Maybe I've just gotten spoiled over the years....

I am at UConn am was thinking of going but now i hear the coop may be selling it for only $70 so I will have to look into that before driving and paying more.
Is this confirmed yet? I'm at UCONN as well and was just going to head down to WestFarms but if the Co-op will have it for $60 cheaper then I'll wait!

I think only a few east coast stores ever had them, and you were required to activate in store to prevent re-selling.

I'm seeing them go for $450-$550 on eBay so that would be optimal but I don't expect that here, of course.

you need to restor with custom firmware, because of the 6.15.00 baseband.
then jailbreak and install ultrasnow.
hurry up because 4.3.3 was released and might not be jailbreakable.
if you have SHSH for 4.3.2. or anything earlier, you will be OK.
as you can tell, i am on iphone just for the second day!! so i don't know how to apply your solution.

Can I run two external displays from the 21" iMac? One from mini dp with vga converter and one from thunderbolt to vga or hdmi? It looks like the graphics card only supports one external display by the specs.. so what would be the point of using the thunderbolt over the mini display port right?

No. There is only one TB/MDP port (they share the same connector) on the 21". Only the 27" has two.

Too bad the person stung by the 2 hornets didn't already have his iPhone 4. I'm almost certain that the new iPhone would contain some kind of antidote that would have been very helpful. I guess we will all just have to wait for Thursday!
Is everyone with an iPhone going to download iOS 4 tom and test I out or are you guys going to wait for Thursday?
I am going to wait until Wednesday night or Thursday. As soon as the new phone is in my hand, I am going to ship my 3g to the new owner (they did not want the new software on the phone)
So, I will back up my stuff on the phone, erase all my stuff on it and have it ready for the new owner. Then I will download the new software

There must be a config file by which refresh rate is adustable. I am going to try to find it out. (yes I just have an ibook :( , but I am a very curious person:) )
In linux it is /etc/X11/xorg.conf (was /etc/X11/XF86Config) in which you can set all the display properties including refresh rates. As OS X is based on UNIX, there must be a config file to edit manually. Or let say I hope :)
Trying with a Linux live cd (for power pc architecture of course) may give some ideas. There are a lot of distributions: Ubuntu and Yellow Dog for example... If it works in linux without lines, then this is a software problem. If the lines exists, you can (I am not very sure but worth to try) also change the xorg.conf even if this is a live cd version. You can edit these files and restart Xserver afterwards.
If it is a software problem (which I also suspect), it should be possible to make it disappear by installing linux and tweeking the video settings. It may also be a firmware issue, and it won't be fixed until Apple address the problem.
So, has anyone tried the new PB with Linux??

I'm looking to buy my second. If the 'je ne sais quoi' of the iMac has got you interested, you'll probably love it.
