Ashley Cole is selling the lovenest he shared with Cheryl before they were married as well as their Surrey home
Ashley Cole is to sell the North London lovenest he shared with Cheryl Cole before they were married.
The 29-year-old Chelsea footballer, currently in the throes of a divorce from Girls Aloud singer Cheryl is evicting the tenants from his apartment in Friern Barnet so he can sell it.
Sources say he wants to ‘clean Cheryl out of his life altogether’ and also plans to sell their Surrey home, which he is expected to be awarded as part of the settlement
‘Ashley informed his tenants that they were being evicted three weeks ago, even though their tenancy is not over,’ says a source.
‘He is hoping to sell up by the end of next month. He wants no more ties to Cheryl or the homes they once shared.’
The couple moved into the plush apartment in North London in 2004. It was while they were living there that Cole proposed and the couple married before moving into their £6 million Surrey mansion in 2008.
Cheryl and Kimberley to front malaria charity
Meanwhile, Cheryl, 27, is using her time off work constructively as she recovers from a bout of malaria. A pal says the singer plans to front a charity with her Girls Aloud bandmate and close friend Kimberley Walsh to raise awareness about the disease.
‘Cheryl wants to raise money for mosquito nets and better medicines across the worst-affected regions of Africa,’ says the friend.
‘After hitting such a terrible physical low, she has come to realise just how awful the disease is and how lucky she has been to receive the best medical care.’
