Too skinny? Taylor Momsen looks frail in her white baby doll dress and ripped stockings as she arrives at the BBC Radio 1 studios in London today
As one of the stars of popular American TV drama Gossip Girl, Taylor Momsen knows her figure is under scrutiny.
But as she arrived in London this week to promote her new venture as a rock singer, the teenage actress looked remarkably thin.
Walking into the BBC Radio 1 studios today, the 16-year-old appeared super skinny in her white baby doll dress and ripped knee-high stockings.
Momsen, who plays troubled teenager Jenny Humphrey on Gossip Girl, is currently promoting her new band The Pretty Reckless.
Although she's always been slim, her slender appearance in London this week suggests she's lost even more weight.
The 5ft 8in star said last year: 'I'm just kind of naturally thin. My mom's really thin, and I'm tall. Good genes.
'My legs are really long and that’s cool apparently, but I’m totally klutzy. I mean, I’m like Bambi. I fall all over myself because I can’t control my arms and my really long legs.
'Naturally thin': Momsen insists she eats healthily and attributes her slender figure to 'good genes'
'I just eat healthy. I walk a lot because I live in New York. So I try to walk a lot instead of taking cabs.'
During Momsen's appearance on This Morning yesterday, she ended up turning the air blue when she said 's**t'.
Speaking to hosts Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, Momsen was talking about the pressure to look good as a celebrity when the four-letter word slipped out.
She said: 'There is [pressure] and there isn’t - there is if you care, and if you just do what I do, you just don’t give a s**t - oh, can I not say that?'
Schofield quickly interjected: 'No, not really. But we apologise for that.'
Too risqué for daytime TV? Momsen wore stockings and a little black dress for her appearance on This Morning yesterday
Momsen added: 'Sorry! But I just don’t read the internet [or media]. I just don’t read it because someone is always going to say what you’re doing or how you’re looking or whatever and it’s like, just be comfortable in your own skin and what you’re doing.'
For her segment on This Morning, Momsen wore a racy ensemble of another pair of over-the-knee stockings, a lacy black dress and heavy eye make-up.
When Willoughby described her style of dress as 'quite provocatively for a 16-year-old', Momsen replied: 'Well I don’t really understand, am I supposed to dress like that when I’m 30? Isn’t this the time when I’m supposed to be able to wear anything?
Teen spirit: The actress plays rebellious Jenny Humphrey in Gossip Girl
'I don’t really understand! I graduated from high school two years ago - I am my own boss.'
Despite finding fame playing angst-ridden Jenny on Gossip Girl, Momsen said music is her main love in life.
She said: 'Music is where I can be me. I really do it because I love it, honestly. It's what I want to do with my life. I mean, it's my only goal.
'Acting is easy. I've been doing it for so long and I totally love it. But you're playing a character instead of yourself. Music is more personal because you're writing it and you're involved in every step of it.'
