I sent a letter earlier this year to one of my Senators here in CA regarding my 2001 LC and the result i got was that the senators secretary checked my case with USICS and sent a letter stating that my green card was approved 2003.
For somebody who is still waiting for LC recruitment instructions this was a total waste of time and money ( donated $5000. to Senator).
Next week my attorney and i and his other LC DBEC clients are going to try and make an appointment with DOL and see if they will comply.
Number 1 point we shall pursue is to make a $5000.00 premium processing for all DBEC pending LC and have guranteed adjudication in 120 days for all LC with current PD.
This way all clients with current PD will obvouisly pay $5000.00 and DBEC can use the extra funds for remaining cases.

As far as I know there are atleast 5-6K applicants waiting with PDs before Dec-2003. Considering 3 visas used for each applicant. There'll be a requirement of atleast 15-20K Green Card numbers for Indian EB3 to clear people up to Dec'2003. While EB3 gets a maximum of 3K/Year. My guess is it'll take 5-6 Years to get the EB3 to Dec'2003.
If we assume this poll is a mirror of actual application load at USCIS then 70% applications were filed before January 2005 (529/750). Out of 529, 223 were filed during June 2003 or before (42% load). Now during last May-June 2007 EB3-I's current PD reached to June 2003. So assuming current stuck ones were product of either PBEC/DBEC labor approval delay and /or Name check delay, they will be virtually ready to go, I mean get a GC rightaway. People with PD having DEC 2003 and before will have fair chance as well.

My motive is simple and straightforward. I am looking for points that I can use to convince lawmakers and media that American will gain AND not loose by supporting our cause.
I also plan to use the poll results during our upcoming meeting with lawmakers. If you have some better idea , which will enable me to use during such meetings, I am all ears.

The poll we are voting on was when did we plan to make a property purchase, my view and my opinion was that to me holding the green card wasn't the deciding factor.
I agree there is risk in property values and the ability to liquidate.
I acknowledge that your position is because of market conditions in the lending economy that have changed, in 1999 I got a mortgage after 3 months on H1b, and I know times have changed.
But obviously you attempted to consider buying property before your GC approval, because of your mortgage rejection...which is due to lender policy.
I thought the purpose of the poll was to measure the forums "plan and intention": when do you plan to buy a house?

Perhaps it's an unfair question, because most people don't have the cash to just buy out right and are forced to borrow, at the lenders conditions.
The other economic question is about property values and real estate cycles. The two rules of real estate are "location, location, location" and "timing".
Then factor the security of your position.
At the end of the day as I see it we have to choices, we either rent accomodation or we buy.
It's up to all of us to make our own decision as to which route we wish to take and whether the cost of renting is the opportunity cost of buying.
So here's my question to you...if you could secure funding, would you buy or would you wait for GC approval?
Are you experiencing difficulty in securing a mortgage because you are not a green card holder? is a different question.

Stop the non-sense . As if USCIS-DOL knows exactly how many portings are going on ..do you think all the movement of this dates make sense ? just check last year movements .. they have no theory no logic or no numbers they just move with no logic ... At the end of year they move to 2006 or 2007and back to 2003 next year ..

if u can keep thd same PD whenu change from eB3 to eB2..you should do it immediately!

I find FBI security clearnce has been one of the hot issues which is causing many lime me to wait even though our cases are curent. I lost the opportunity some time back, got hit by the retrogression, still waiting for the FBI clearnace. Appreciate if it can be added as one of the hot issues.

I like the idea of separate fund for EB3.
Is there no one in IV admins /founders who are interested in EB3?
I believe we need to have a EB3 wing in IV ,Ideally the max donors in EB3 ( atleast 10) can be the decision makers and can ensure EB3 voice is also heard.
We should have the % board members in IV from EB3 wing reflecting the amounts donated by EB3.
Looks like we already have Patton Boggs lobbying for IV. Did any EB3 candidate ever given an chance to interact with them. Exactly how does this work ?

I had same conversation with my lawyer, got reply as since I-140 is approved recently so don't have to include. Already I-485 applied without employer letter. Please suggest what other options do I have.
Ask him to send an ammedment to the previous application of I-485 which was submitted, and include the Employment offer letter if you can.

You were right when you have mentioned people would like to get to the next process. Yes, I was of the opinion that the labour clearance was the only hurdle in the GC process. When my I-485 was current and my case was not cleared than I realized how serious the "security clearance process" was. Interestingly many people have been stuck in the process. (Please take a look at the link I have posted.) None of the people could successfully find a way out. Comparing the "Name check process" as a "case to case" process is bit a "over-statement". In the cases you have mentioned, atleast you have an option to contact USCIS. USCIS has an obligation to respond with in a specified time period. But in case of "Name Check process" as you might have already found , one may not expect a response from FBI. Its plain and simple. If my name is stuck in the "security clearane", I would like to know what for ( just like the RFE sent by USCIS). I may provide some information that could clarify their doubts or atleas can provide them to check certain facts to check the veracity

I know most of you are EB2 but hey I am happy that EB3 finally moved to 2004 now I just am waiting for it to go to june 2005 and I just might get my card ;-)
