The pro immigration group wants these benefits given to illegals, Anti (any) immigration groups wants no immigration to begin with and want to curtail the current immigration options (H1B and GC for legals etc.) , therefore the compromise is that the pro illegal immigration group lets them cut the current LEGAL immigration channels and anti immigrants let the illegals get all these privileges.
There is no one to argue our cause , there goes our fate :(

I have seen lots of people posting more than 300+ in this forum and never contributed a dime. If you ask they shamelessly say it is not mandatory to contribute. Everyone knows it is not mandatory, but if you are not self centred and stingy, you will feel to contribute at least once if not recurring after spending months on IV forum.

Are there any implications of leaving my employer now who sponsored me for GC? I got my GC on the first week of July. I plan to leave on the 1st week of September. Thank you very much.
Addendum: I applied for AOS for my spouse this July. Will there be a problem with her AOS?
You might face problems during Naturalization. Min 6 months employment with the GC sponsoring employer after approval is recommended.

this whole thing sucks. USCIS cannot adjudicate even I-131 on time. We have booked our travel tickets after 100 days of Received date of AP renewal application and looks like we have to cancel our tickets and waste $1800. This really blows and its attrocity to the core that USCIS cannot process AP renewals inside 90 days time period and its a shame that they are not answerable to anyone.
wow! I am worried about my case now. I booked tickets for Nov. Its 45 days and I haven't heard anything. I will have to expedite in about 15 days from now. I can't imagine canceling my tickets after 4 years.

Recently I returned after a one month trip to India. At DC airport the CBP secondary inspection officer grilled us rough. First he called my wife and asked why did we leave US. She told that since my parents are old and not in good health we visited them. Then he started asking for documents proving it. And told us that without documents he won't let us enter. He went on to say that AP is only on humanitarian basis and unless CBP officer is satisfied with proof they cannot allow AP holder to enter. Finally after convincing him for another 30 min he let us in.
This was a really shocking experience. Are employment based GC's AP supposed to be treated like humanitarian AP? or was the CBP officer over reacting? Gurus please throw some light.

Question gurus... I have a xerox copy of my approved I-140. Will this be enough to port the priority date? or do you need the original copy to be submitted along with the new I-140 application when you request portability of older priority date?? please clarify.
Yes. That is suffice. My attorney asked for original and i told him, i have only I140 approval copy. Attorney asked additional proof like pay stubs, w2's from that employer. I submitted copies of pay stubs and w2's from that employer. My case is approved. waiting for the Notice copy. I will come to know once i receive the approval notice whether they ported priority date or not.

Remember in life you have to have an attitude of respecting others, if u think you need to be treated specially cause you have lived in America 10yrs then u would be definitely disappointed. A lot of my friends have relocated to India and I am too early next year. The only answer is attitude.
But there are cases where you expect to be treated like a human , and you are not. That is the most difficult thing for some who returned and regret doing so.
And it is a bigger dream (than dream about getting GC) to expect people to leave en masse .

as per the law u can switch employers after 180 days from recipt of ur 485 application...unless the CBP wants to give u a hard time...he should not jerk u around on that....
