wow, everybody is fanatic, obsessed, crazy anything about Apple. me, too. I still hesitate to buy new shuffle or not. maybe my 2G nano will be pissed.

I have an Apple Computer. I want upgrades to that as well as software for it. I don't want a telephone or a TV streaming device. What I want is Apple Computer to get back to building great computers and software to run on it. In short, I like Apple Computer Inc, I'm not very happy with Apple Inc!!:mad:

Hi everyone. I have the 2011 15" MBP and need help to get my printer working. First, let me tell you what I have so far.
The MBP 15" 2011 has all the softwares updated. I installed Windows 7 via Boot Camp, then installed Parallels. So far so good. Next, I installed Quickbooks and Office both for Windows. BTW, it is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
After setting up, I was glad to be able to use the MBP and run Quickbooks and Office programs side by side under Mac OS. Next, I tried to connect the old Epson LX-300 printer. This is where my problem started and remains unresolved.
I still could not get the Epson printer to be installed properly on the Mac OS, so I downloaded the Epson printer driver v2.6, I think. It is a huge file at something like 800+ mb if I remember correctly. After installing this file, I finally managed to install the printer by following the instructions from an Epson support site. At this point, I have not test printed.
Next, I ran Quickbooks under Mac OS, but when I wanted to print, I could not find the Epson LX-300.
I really needed to print invoices, so I shutdown the computer, rebooted using Windows 7. Supposed to be, when I connect the printer, Windows should be able identify and install the necessary driver. Unfortunately, this did not work.
What happens is that when I plug in the printer via USB, on the control panel of Windows 7, it will show USB printer. That's it. When I try to print, I cannot find the Epson printer... Even USB Printer is not available.
HELP! I need to be able to print. I don't care if this is only possible by booting into Windows 7 OS... Which at this point, doesn't even work.
If anyone could show me how to set this thing properly, at least make the printer work on Wndows 7, or better, make it work even if I am on Mac OS running Windows programs.

Geez, dude, it's all about saving time so you *do* have more time on your own. For example, texting is now used in situations where you would have called/answered a phone call before. Texting is more efficient because you can just put off answering the text until later (you could also not take a call and just call the person back later, but you wouldn't know how urgent the call was unless you took the time to check your voice mail if they left one).
Likewise, I use the humble web features on my Sony Ericsson phone a *lot*, to look up restaurant/bar addresses, movie times, etc. when I am out and about. You are exactly what the forums needed to deal with the wave of spammers that have been striking as of late. I remember one member in particular (I won't name which one) had a post average of over 60 per day shortly after being banned. I know this because I checked that user's profile. 60 per day is almost surely spamming when even Mr. Anderson can't manage more than 16 legitimate posts per day - I haven't found any more active member.

When your booted into os x, go into system preferences find start up disk then click on the Macintosh HD icon ( it will tell you what OS is on the drive ) then click restart. That will set the boot order.
Or do a PRAM reset that will also clear it and default the OS X partition to be the start up one.

Is there a good app that I can use to move files to and from my iPhone without having to use iTunes.

apple says no, and i can confirm this on my new 2nd gen shuffle. there is a slight gap.
how big is a "slight" gap? well I guess I won't be getting one then because I don't see why I should buy an ipod that can't play back albums properly! my first gen shuffle was completely dead for the past two months until last week when the new utility brought it back, so I can't justify a new shuffle and will probably end up eventually getting one of the nanos (wish the 8GB one came in different colours including the project red version). And my first gen 10GB scroll wheel iPod is still working fine 4 1/2 years after I got it!
