I did extended for my in-laws when they entered last time to US. When they entered next time they entered without any issues.
Last time time also lot of my friends scared me (immigration people will stop them at the port of entry), my another friend (both husband and wife doctors), they bring there in - laws everytime they will extend it to 3 times approxmately they will stay in US 2 years, they left several times and entered into US without any issues.
I think in your case you have been lucky and may have given complelling reason, but otherwise the odds are that the next time around entry may be refused or a shortened stay. I have seen from numerous cases, 7 out of 10 cases were rejected or shortened stay. As one of the posters put it , it is at the discretion of IO at POE next time you visit. This is high risk when u put the things into perspective in longer run

Dude i think you have WAYYYY overestimated the processing times!!
I think I might have ....I will not be surprise if they establish BECs for all of these ...:) BECs for AP, BECs for EAD and BECs for 485 ...
The guys who dint have experience with BECS in labor stage will see what BEC means. People like me have to experience more than once ...
If CIR passes in its current form forget about GC for 15 more years ....:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Just tried, got connected after trying for 4/5 times. Automated response system sucks, its in different languages, but after pressing 1 (for English) still could not get the further menu.
Finally when the call got through the voice quality totally sucked. It is like how it used to be in 1990s with delay and static. Won't use again.

Most US citizens have NO clue about our plight. They literally have ZERO clue about our plight. What is worse is, people who came here thru family based immigration have an equal amount of lack of clue about this problem. Right now all the citizens see in us is the enemy (they take our jobs away), they have no idea what kinda stuff we have to go thru to "take their jobs away"!

Then why do we need an attorney if we are there to correct them. We provide them with proper documentation. They make sure they put it correctly in the form. I can understand if a wrong document has been send and that caused the error but otherwise what are they for.
That was my feeling all this time. Why couldn't they just give us all the proper forms to fill (which we don't need lawyers for) and then correct the mistakes.

I have given my real estate agent several referrals and for each I receive a cash amount. I'm on an H1B visa, am I able to receive income from someone other than my employer?
I've searched the web and have been able to find out that this should be reported as taxable income, I'm just not sure if I can receive it due to my immigration status.

I was trying to find out if it is possible to switch from H1-EAD-H1 all the while staying in the country.
If this switch is possible then will the EAD-H1 switch process be treated as 1 .transfer/ 2.new H1 application(subject to annual quota,lottery)/ 3.something else(recapture)? Though in all the three cases this new H1 will be valid for only whatever time that is left on H1 and not 6 years.
All these days I thought it would be treated as transfer (though there is a gap between the H1).

There is something called as recapturing of lost Days on H1. So for example you were out of USA for some time when you were on H1 you can recapture that period. Try googling "Recapturing of H1".
This way you will not be part of the New quota. Hope this helps

Unless you submitted I-485 for her she cannot apply for EAD. If you did submit I-485, yes you can apply EAD for her now by submitting form I-765.

When the papers are prepared, attorney will send it to the candidate to review and sign it. Dint you find the flaws then? if not, then it is your mistake and the attorney will bill you for sure.
My attorney sent a draft from for me to fill it out. I filled it in and sent it back to him. He filled the original seeing the information from the draft with lots of mistakes. Then he sent the filled original to me. I have to review it again and fix all the errors. Then he corrected it and sent it back to me. Then again I have to review and sign. So the responsibility lies on me and not with Attorney.
My friends lawyer screwed up the application and it was returned. Later on it was filed and got accepted without their help. Now they are billing him and threatening him. What can he do?
