I have nothing more to say guys. what some people are saying is logic and what i'm saying is the fact.
Anyway, My lawyer used the PERM. right after i received my Labor I had to renew my H1b which took 6 months (regular processing). After i received my renewal I sent my I-140 application. I didn't even bother to use the premium processing for my i140 because the i485 was not current that time, instead it way way back as a EB3. anyway, you know the rest of the story.....
Shimul999 may not be trying to play or may be doing so, only Shimul999 knows. But there are legitimate observations such as below (Assuming s/he provided all information for his/her case correctly) can lead any person like VKKKK to believe that.
1) He is claiming labor filed in Feb 06 and he got approval in May 06 (As per
his signature). Now if his file is in BEC this would not have happened so it is
safe to assume that either he might have used substitution labor OR his file
is filed in PERM. Now Feb 06 was the initial stage of PERM and during that
period there were lot many software glitches in the PERM system so many
lawyers were almost hesitant to file under PERM. But assuming that his
lawyer took decision to file under PERM, end to end process was almost 4
months for PERM so either his file was reached before Feb 06 then only he
could have labor approval in May 06. So there is definately something
wrong there.
2) If my labor is approved in May 06 why would I wait to file I-140 till Feb 07
(His signature)?
Now 1st point, considering Shimul lucky even that time one can assume it might have happened. For second point one can assume any reason for that long wait so it is not necessary that by looking to these both points we can fairly say that s/he is not representing the fact. It can be a fact and in that case s/he deserves our congratulations.

So basically, an unlawfull alien residing in US for past 5 years gets change his status to PR, moreover he is not restricted by the per country limit he can go from filing I-485 to get a Visa number allotted to him practically overnight..and not having to wait like folks from India or China ....
I dont think this bills has anything favourable to legal immigrants... It better to apply as the other category ....

I DID NOT pay the huge fee.
I think they had given a waiver till August 21 or so for the July fiasco filers.

Fill out the G-639 form and take it to a notary. Have him notarize the document when you sign it in his presence. Worked for me.

The photograph folks don't ask any immigration documents, just the SSN original card. That's it.
I'm in the same boat. PA DoT wants to see visa stamp on the passport.. applied for 1st 3 year extn at VSC on 7/10, will up it to PP this week... anyone in PA got their DL renewed using RN... please specify how and where??

I would say even Canadian system of education is different from US. However difference in Canada is 10% v/s difference with India is 80%.
Remember Canada is Commonwealth country and ex British Colony and their education system is amalagmation of British and US systems. So even in Canaz they will prounces Z as Zed and not as Zee as in US. They will also write cheque and not check.
Canada educational system standards are high. In Canada public school is free like US but it goes beyond US in that even school supplies are free. You pay nothing for pen, book, paper or anything used in the classroom.
Also in Canad there are public Catholic schools where school is run by Catholics but with government aid so you pay nothing. Something like private school with no fees. or your Indian convent schools which many of us may have been to.

Good idea. lets do it. We need to keep the ball rolling and create awareness among public as well as law makers.
This was discussed before and I cannot find it now..but here is an extension of the degrees idea.
1. Get everyone involved in the GC process to make a copy of their degrees/ qualifications/ certifications/ patents/ papers/ publications/ etc
2. Format it into standard size (perhaps A4)
3. Get a stamp on each of those sheets that says 'TRASH' or something else - maybe 'REVERSE BRAIN DRAIN' or 'KEEP TALENT IN THE US' - we can work that out. - it has to be bold, in RED, if possible across the page.
4. Get each State Chapter to create a binder/ maybe more if we can get enough participation.
5. We can submit a copy of that to local congressman and senators. We can also put all states together and send that to the White House, perhaps.
This will take a lot of coordination from all state chapter...but it is doable.
Any thoughts???

The Indian citizenship rules were changed sometime in 2003 so that children are not eligible citizenship if the birth was not registered within 1 year or if the child has taken some other passport. These children can get Indian citizenship only after attaining 18 years and renouncing the foreign citizenship.
I think like many Indian government rules, the OCI rules have not been thought out properly.

The cheapest place to get a masters is still in India. The IGNOU MCA costs $1000 in India, and they plan to let you take exams in the future in the US. Or maybe you could do everything online and just visit to take the exam.
MKU, another well known online university has a US branch. I heard an MS is less than $2000.
Both these are generally recognized in the US
