Senior guys, if you don't like a thread, ignore it, the thread may be of interest to some people on the forum. So let those people talk. Also since nothing is happening on the immigration, what else public will do other than 'Time pass'???

May be this is not a prediction thread. But the OP and some others are all about VB in another thread or two. While I personally dont have any issue with it, it just frustates me that people dont understand that VB is not going to do any magic for PD's in 2003 or later. C mon Lets be realistic. After doing all the math in so many threads, Does any one expect that the PD will be some where in the ending of 2003. Hell no. Then why is that we have a Dec Bulletin thread way back? Now some one is gonna come start a Jan prediction thread. Useless. I hate to comment on this but I hope people understand the difference between discussion as you said(which I personally agree) and useless predictions when they can make educated guess and do something else.
I am glad you agree with me that discussion is different from prediction!! As far as the futility of predictions go, I agree with you. the beauty of this thread is in seeing someone (like GCanyMinute) say that their PD is now current. while we commiserate about our condition, it is the ray of hope that keeps all of us sane does it not?
here is to cheering for people who are crossing the finish line :-))

Question gurus... I have a xerox copy of my approved I-140. Will this be enough to port the priority date? or do you need the original copy to be submitted along with the new I-140 application when you request portability of older priority date?? please clarify.
Yes. That is suffice. My attorney asked for original and i told him, i have only I140 approval copy. Attorney asked additional proof like pay stubs, w2's from that employer. I submitted copies of pay stubs and w2's from that employer. My case is approved. waiting for the Notice copy. I will come to know once i receive the approval notice whether they ported priority date or not.

Its good that we have a democratic majority in congress. we also now have work cutout for us to contact new lawmakers. getting more members and members willing to work for local chapters is important at this time. we need to work with renewed vigour now and finish our task. pls help with increasing membership and join your state level chapter threads. I see only very few members have posted their interest. we need interest from each member in order to succeed. I am sure we will succeed. The good times are ahead of us but we need to take advantage of it.

In the state of Mass delivery is covered by the State provided you show you don't have insurance. Millions of single moms are delivering and many are teenagers and many are w/o any insurance. One irrelevant question: Why did you wait till Aug 15th, 2007 to file your 485 when your date was current in June and you could file in June 2007?
Just noticed your question - I was actually one of those stuck in the notorious BEC. As luck would have it, my Labor cert which had been stuck in local office processing first and finally made it to the second stage of labor was stuck there as well for months until it seemed like they finally were processing applications that had been received at the same time as mine. Then it happened - all labor processing centers were scrapped and everything was shipped in boxes to the blackhole called BEC. Little did I know then the upfront delay of months would be insignificant compared to the delay of almost 4 years at the BEC. In fact, my labor cert hadn't been processed by BEC even when the Jun 07 window opened up. As luck would have it though, in the month when everything was rolled back, my labor was finally cleared (thank god for small mercies!) and I was able to apply for both I-140 and I-485 when the window opened back up temporarily between July 30th and Aug 17th. Of course, I am still last in the line since USCIS processes based on application received data and not priority date! However, as I mentioned earlier, I am thankful to all of the efforts of IV that led to the window opening back up, which actually enabled me to file my I-485 and eventually receive an EAD (if not, would have still bee completely dependant on H-1, 11th year, now)

There is one more option for you. H1 and L1 employees can go on long paid/unpaid leaves. If her company can support with document that she was on an unpaid leave for any reason (I do not know the reasons...make something) then there are chances that she will be able to change her status back to H4. All you have to prove that there was a good faith employee employer relationship for that particular duration. Talk to a lawyer, explain the situation..........every passing day is making your situation worse. Good Luck.

I asked my company lawyer to file for EB2 since EB2 is current. This is what their response is.
"DOL has come up with what they consider to be job classifications and separated those into the job zones. There are very few which make it to zone 5 and they include such things as surgeons, lawyers, physicists and the like, in other words highly specialized positions requiring a higher than normal education path and many years experience. There are no computer related positions listed under Job Zone 5. All our positions fall under Job Zone 4 which does not lend itself to EB2 filing. We can�t file under EB2 due to DOL restrictions to minimum requirements for positions."

Your are definitely a EB2 worth candidate. A company willing to support you and a good attorney is all you want. There are plenty who have qualified for EB2 with these qualifications.
Instead of MS, look for a good consultancy or a perm job which will do the trick for you. I do know/understand that it is hard to get consulting jobs and maintaining visa's for family members but look at the bright side, labor nowadays takes only about 3 weeks and 140 if you apply through PP, then you are talking 2 weeks again. You have a possibility to get out of this mess.
If kids from college gets into EB2 and gets GC in two years, You sure do sir...

In Maryland, they didnt ask for any document when I took my about to be expired DL to the MVA (Motor vehicles Admin) last year. The guy said as long as you have $30, we would renew your expired license!
However, getting a new DL for my wife was a nightmare. We had to schedule an

Me too in the same boat. I have EFiled EAD renewal on May 21st and a LUD on July 31st due to my address change. No idea how long should I wait. Thouht of taking info pass but looks like one of the option is saying "if EAD pending more than 90 days" So I should wait another 5 days before I take an info pass. I am planning to take the recent USCIS memo where it talks about interim EAD and see what they say about it.
