If you don't want to connect your mac every time you want to watch the HD video or if you want to share your blockbuster movie with friends and family, then you can buy a bluray burner and an app to burn bluray disks.
http://eshop.macsales.com/articles/howto-burn-bluray-toast
There might be a better way, I'm not sure... The bluray burners start at around $150.

Working at Microsoft is not a detriment to his career. It's a boon. I think you'd be hard pressed to find people who would refuse to work at the most successful software company in the world, except the most zealot-minded Apple fanboys, such as we have here. I understand why people downvote the story, but for goodness' sake, I'm fairly sure Apple's HR people know better than us. Give him a freaking break. He's going go to do a job 8000 times better than any random schmuck off the streets (or on these forums for that matter), and that's why he got it.

Now we are playing with power.
Same thing I was thinking. The ramifications of this.
However, one question that intrigues me is Europe's mini-USB adoption with cell devices. How will this factor in?

He came off as an academic elitist with no grounding with the people. Glad to see he has retired where he belongs: out of politics and in academia.
I agree that that is how he came off as. It's too bad that he didn't have an image consultant, and if he did, they did a piss poor job.
He probably would have done a good job if they won, but we'll never know.

iOS Expose could be an improvement to multitasking, maybe they need to wait for the A5 to have the power to make it work.
Why can't the A4 display the 9 screenshots, as per the video, it's hardly taxing?

Or how about the lack of pictures? This had photo op written all over it, but we the taxpayer only get one picture? I think the number of pictures were limited due to Steve Jobs current condition.
could be possible i suppose....who knows.

Just buy T-Mobile. Its cheap and compatible with the current iphone hardware.
Apple would have to add AWS (1700 MHz) frequency support to the iPhone and iPad, but as mentioned upthread that should be less work than adding CDMA.
Apple wouldn't necessarily have to buy T-Mobile outright. They could strike a MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) deal as part of an equity stake, for example. An MVNO arrangement would give Apple some flexibility, with preference to T-Mobile but the option to fill in gaps through wholesale arrangements with other carriers.

I have to say that LIVEFRMNYC's chat makes more sense than the Consumerist's. Fraud would certainly be reason for preventing only online sales. My guess is that the Consumerist got a typically uninformed call center employee.
Why would that make more sense with one city? The fraudulent claims would have to be more than the iPhones they sell online in NYC. There are more iPhone users here than any other city in the world.
Also you would have to say the Consumerist (well-respected blog) is lying and AT&T isn't. Do you really believe that? The original reason the Consumerist went after this story was that people were having this problem and they initiated their own investigation.

Let's put it this way, if the conservative leader Stephen Harper, who has won a majority government tonight, was the prime minister back in Canada too would have entered the pointless mess that is the Iraq war. We had a liberal party in power then, and they rightly decided otherwise.
A conservative government is also more friendly to corporations (cutting corporate taxes), less concerned with the environment (supporting oil sands in Alberta), in favour of spending more on the military (buying new jets in the coming years) and more willing to spend huge amounts on security and the like (~$1 billion spent for security during the Toronto G20 summit).
Having said that though thankfully in Canada the conservative party is nothing like the hawkish corporate shills that you guys have in the US, at least not in that extreme.
Hm, that pretty much sounds the same as the difference between conservatives and liberals in the US for the most part. Hope they don't try to take away your universal health care!

I don't understand why anyone gets so upset about who should be Christmas Number 1? Don't be daft! Whoever is on the top spot...we don't get anything out of it!!! Rage or Joe? Who cares...I like them both. 'Killing in the name' reminds me of my Youth, it is an old good tune and its nice to have it back. Saying that Joe is a lovely young singer under the Simon Cowell claws, forced to sing a totally unsuitable song. Before they even started x-factor finalists live shows they already declared that song being xmas number 1. I am glad that they were wrong in a way. Simon Cowell is still laughing though as it totally boosted Joe's song sales as everyone who actually liked it (or was brainwashed to like it) bought it! So there we go...all it did was creating publicity! Lets be happy that we get so much choice of music and if we don't buy it we can still listen to it on spotify!

Is this a joke or what? Are people that work in retail different to the rest of us? Am I missing something here?
Think different. Think about long-term discounts........and relationships (with Apple!)

Let's hope he didn't use a cross compiler when making the app....
Haha, exactly what I was thinking.
Sometimes, the app store restrictions are a bit ridiculous, and when Apple realizes that they're dealing with people who know what they're doing, they remove those restrictions quickly.

It would be nice if Apple focused on getting airplay to work well within their own devices. I'm tired of dropping music from itunes or my iphone to my AE. It pisses me off because I purchased the AE with the sole intent of using it for airplay.

I've just installed Lion on a blank drive on a new Air and this is in Software Update. I'm definitely running DP2 as it says in the dialog. Is this telling me to update to something I already have or is there a DP3 I haven't heard about?

Dev Center shows newly posted Xcode releases but still lists DP2. Maybe it's propagating.
On a Friday. Weird, if so.

I know there's no real estate for it, but I wouldn't complain it if had a dedicated Ethernet port.
1. An SD slot for the 11 inch - I'm a blogger and would like to be able to upload pictures without the use of a converter or hooking my camera up to the computer
Have you tried an Eye-Fi memory card? I picked one up recently and it's made offloading photos from the camera SO much easier.

Ah, right. In the developer site there is an implication that the server version would be separate. But I'm still expecting some sort of gimmick. With the Mac Store one could end up paying for each little feature as an option.
