Take a look at the light bleeding in the lower right. I'm thinking of returning it, and getting another unit. Thought I'd post first to see if this is normal with all units.

I've noticed that team Macrumors.com is losing active users since I have restarted folding@home, plus their is hardly any one joining the team :(
So this is a shut out, any one who is folding@home and any one who had once folded, post a message in this thread lets show the forums just how strong our team used to be.
Any one who once folded, come back and help the cause and the team once again. We don't need to fold 24 7 we just need you in your computers idle time to fold.
Any one who has not folded at all, folding@home is project of Stanford University to turn the worlds computers into a large super computer to fold proteins. Protein folding is linked to disease, such as Alzheimer's, ALS, Huntington's, Parkinson's disease, and many Cancers. This is an opportunity to do charity and have competive fun in the form of a points system.

anyone have info on that "carbon design decal" case for ipad2 at the end.
It's on their site but in another colour, they do the same case with wood instead of carbon fibre, the leather case designed to work with the smart cover looks pretty good IMO

This confirms that iOS 5 will be previewed in June and not in April like past years...
how does it confirm that ??? apple has previewed things in April, but showcased the whole thing in June in the past.. and this is an announcement for the Showcase.

This just goes to show that Apple is in reality no better than Wal-Mart (who may be trying to thwart iTV) and Microsoft (criticized for monopolistic practices).

White iPhone is sexy. Not to mention that cases ...especially that stupid bumper attract dust that scratch the phone. My metal antenna band already has tons of scratches from it.

the "cropping" was referred to only one camera body.. just to illustrate you the whole crop size thing.
Now on the top of my quote you write to show you an exif intact photo with an EFs and EF lens..
I cannot do that as I don't have my cam but I will have it back on the weekend and I actually own a dx and FX lens (EF-s and EF) in Nikon land that overlap at 24mm, so I CAN show you..
to everyone else: Can someone do this before then to show our poor misguided soul what is going on?.
As far as Nikon goes: The reason was the F- Mount.. High speed crop is a byproduct. the D700 does not have it and some other don't either but they all MOUNT DX lenses in crop mode AND full frame mode.
F Mount has not changed since the 1950's and the reason why they kept it was that they can let people use older lenses.. Canonians for example got forced to EF in the 80's if I am not mistaken.

Previsualization is the most under rated aspect to photography, you're never going to be much of a photographer if you simply don't have a clear and concise vision of what you want the final print to come out like before you start shooting, this includes what post processing you're going to be doing.

even begin to draw a conclusion that the updates for the MBP would be
forthcoming at this event. People want things so bad they set up their own
personal mirage at anything Apple says or does.
They will update. Apple knows what they are doing. And I suspect that they
won't be to upset when one or two people on here decide to go to a PC because
of a chip. I don't care if my computer was 1/2 the speed of a PC, I wouldn't
use Windows over OS X anytime.

Im tryin to print some episodes to tape and runnin into some issues. I have been doing this with no problem for a couple years now but no more...My setup to give you an idea is Firewire out of my mac into my tapedeck and a/v out of my tapedeck into a monitor just to make sure everything is ok. When i play my video it usually has a straight stream to my monitor through the tapedeck but what its doing now is just playing the audio and showing the first frame of the video and nothing else till i stop the video, then it changes the first frame to the last frame i stopped the video on. When I try to print to tape it will record the audio and just the frame that the playhead was on when I hit record. Not sure if anyone else has had this problem before, its kinda strange. I have restarted FCP, refresed the A/V devices checked my settings and not sure whats goin on. There is a connection because it brings the picture and audio in, it just wont stream the video to my tape deck. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I think the next big project might be to reorganise the Guides category by adding appropriate subcategories such as (for example) Mac Hardware Guides, Mac OS X Guides, iPod Guides etc. It's getting quite large as it is, and it might make it easier to find relevant articles.
It shouldn't be too bad, there are only 120 articles in the Guides category, so any changes should be much simpler than what I've done. And also you can also go through the standard categories to find the guide articles now.
I think getting more people editing the rest of the guides and getting people using the guides is the next step, especially from the iPod/iPhone side.
As well as a lot of very short articles there is a lot of good content already there.

I read somewhere that for most users their local ISP's DNS servers are faster than some of the other options out there like Google's.
I did some tests and it was definately true for me. I'm sure it's not true for everyone, but it's worth testing instead of blindly just changing.
But most have nothing set up. I'm not exactly sure what that does, I think adds an extra step in querying the ISP. That always slows me down.
And, of course, the other half can be an issue, too. People never talk about that except when they want to download a brand new firmware or something. I see "waiting for xyz.com" plenty.

Dont you think that chip would be a little to hot... :D . Well, I fully agree with OS X being the best. But the OS and the quality apps are all that is going for apple. Apple lacks speed, but I cant blame apple for that (stupid moto :rolleyes:), but I can blame them for not dumping moto a long time ago. If apple computer were just as fast as PCs there is no way I would think about getting near a 'peecee', but they arent as fast :(...

I'm not going for 100% US-made. I'd like something designed and assembled in the US with a US-made frame.
My American-made Bacchetta has a frame that was drawn and welded in Formosa, and some of the parts are Japanese, but it was designed and assembled in the US. The good German bike is another matter, though.
