In a country that has employed and harbored 11 million illegals, who dont even have a passport, those who are legally present and 'goofing off' for a while between 2 legitimate jobs that require excrutiating process of h1 sponsorship are the least of anyone's problems. In fact, the section 245(k) says that it is OK to goof off as long as goofing off is less than 180 days. And if the goofing off was before your last entry into usa, it doesnt even matter, regardless of whether it was less than 180 or more than 180 days. Some of the recent GC and EAD achievers takes up a job at USCIS... How does this sound - Huh ??
I think we will GC sooner than anticipated. I think those who filed in July/Aug will get in three/four years. Just a rough estimate. Any one agrees with me?

I think we have crossed the stage of educating these guys, and I personally don't think these guys are in a mental state of responding to reason and rationality.
The best way to teach them a lesson and make them ineffective is to simply prove their points are clear blatant lies and put their credibility under question.
We should create a webfax through IV to senators and legislators that reveals their lies and hits them in their core, and let the senators know that believing in these type of immigration-KKK type of organizations will put their credibility among the general public in question and is very badly detrimental to their future.

I consider this movement of dates a ticket to enter a lucky draw. Whatever visa numbers remain to be used in last two months of the fiscal year is going to be allocated at random to people who have their PD current in this period. So, congratulations to whoever gets lucky.
Well, your luck might be influenced by a variety of reasons like when you sent your application, whether your 140 is already approved, is it a complicated case, pending RFEs, etc. Nevertheless, it still is good news that so many people are now eligible to participate in the draw...

I had one question. If there 140 K quota and 400 k employment AOS pending shuldnt they be cleared in 2-3 years (140k*3) since no matter what 140 k visas are going to get used (for example if there are leftovers others will get it)?

After arriving in US , typically It takes about a year or two before you start ur GC process.(Initial job/city jumping )
So most of the applicants in 01-02 arrived during the halcyon days of 99-00.

You are right about the gov fiscal being Oct - Sep.
Even if the numbers you stated are for fiscal and not calendar years, there is still an error.
To illustrate my point, there are 2766 India-Approved PERM cases of FY2005 i.e. with PDs between 3/29/2005 and 9/30/2005 in the 2006 data sheets.
Therefore total PERM cases for Fiscal 2005 ~ > 4116
Unfortunately, the 2007 data sheets do not have the "Received Date" field - i'm guessing that is not entirely accidental on part of the DOL.
If you glance at the Job title column you would see there are unusually large number of certified case with title like "curry chef ,COOK, cashier, clerk, butcher, Automobile Mechanic". And Obviously they are not in EB2 Cat.
So the numbers will very less than your estimate.

How can you pan to live long term without being a resident is something I don't understand..
I am assuming that by this you mean "long term plans without having a GC". While it might be difficult to imagine setting roots in this country without a GC, it also means that for some reason you think that the GC will be denied and so you don't want to set roots in this country.
If you don't think your GC will be denied, I don't see any problem in making long term plans and setting roots here while waiting for the GC. It is going to happen - it is just a matter of time.
