Apply for I-485, if you find the "right" partner before approval get married asap. If not, find the "right" partner in US and get married. Finding the right partner is equally important as getting a GC. Dont rush it guys!:D

Anyways no harm trying any and all legal ways !
You are right.. I got a call this Wednesday from the Presidents office of initiating an inquiry on my case and again a repeated call from them on Friday that FBI Name Check has been cleared. I forgot to mention this detail in my excitement.

Yes status has been changed to : Current Status: Request for Additional Evidence Sent.
There is no information about RFE.
Also SOFT LUD on April 6 after RFE update on April 3. I wonder why they would update my cases twice in 3 days.

The point behind the lawsuit example was that just talking frivolously about lawsuits without understanding background and facts - is completely meaningless. This has been proven in the past.

First off, any DOL complaint don't need u to be here to continue with the investigation. The way it works is, u tell them ur entire story and leave. They'd take their time to investigate using all the documentation u'd have provided them, and in the end if ur employer was found guilty, they might still let him off the hook giving him a warning. There's really no guarantee that ur employer wud be found at fault unless they find more employees lodge complaints against him. U might be the only one.
Anyhow, u can give it a shot and see what happens as u have nothing to lose. I know that ppl hv tried this b4 without much luck. Employers hire attorneys to save them from such situations. Ur employer closing down shutters is a far fetched thought...just saying...US laws are quite tricky.
H1 transfer at this point may not really work for u as u dont hv paystubs. Sorry, its a bad situation to be in. I understand u paid from ur pockets to come here and it sucks - Good luck!

I guess it was my employers discretion to make me sit home with him just not responding to my mails, i couldn't barge in to his office and say hey give me desk to work on? can i ?
Anyways looking at the LCA agreement i think you don't seem to know what you are talking about, I am here holding his company's name on my H1B form , His agreement on LCA and his employment letter, i dunno if there is any other way i could make inroads into barging into his office?
Now if he puts a security guard against me entering his office, shouldn't i report this to DOL too?

My already high regard for IV has increased 10 fold with this clear message of yours. It was high time for all the people issuing threats that�s they would leave IV if there ideas were not accepted by IV, to just leave and do everybody a favor.

just presenting a possible reason why what paskal proposed in his post does not work well in IV.......its not a question of whether phone calls are important or not....its a question of making a significant number of forum stakeholders (and not 1-2%) get to act on any initiative......fund raising/ calling efforts etc....
i genuinely believe that the core members go above and beyond whats expected to do what they are doing for IV - its truly remarkable...they all have busy lives and it takes great conviction and dedication to take the time out and do this...but why are the people still not responding despite the obvious pitfalls of not acting on GC related initiatives.......
maybe its lethargy, inaction, indifference etc.......but we should be open to considering that just maybe, a vast and silent majority of IVians do not feel a sense of representation in the organization and hence do not react as enthusiastically as they should........legitimacy among the constituents often comes with representation
why did most kingdoms around the world perish and give way to democracies......bcos the kings taxed the public based on their whims and fancies......elected govts may do the same but people still pay up and if they dont agree - they know they have a choice at the next elections.......
and no, i dont deserve to be the CEO - neither do i have a performance track record nor credibility here......should not stop me from voicing a contrarion view though

Nobody here exactly knows why the participation rate is less. Some of reasons could be:
i have my EAD, thats more than enough for me
i am in my I-140 or PERM stage, why should i bother now?
i don't think GC process is a big problem, i am sure i will get one day
i don't care. I will sit and watch others do this for me
I will not blame the core members. I understand their Vision and it aligns with mine. How do you enforce a vision in IV community when the participation is less?
How can any action survive with 100-200 members participation? look at numbersusa and learn from their strengths.
Having said that, i have a few suggestions though. Lets talk to our friends and relativies, understand their concerns/issues and communicate IV's vision to them in a better way and get them to participate.
Lets set some intermediate goals to track our progress.
Lets go IV

You have to have security clearance before you can do that.
Pretty much like you have to have citizenship before you can vote.

2. No need to maintain GC status, even if I spend >1 year out of US

I know that with a deluge of applications, the question I am asking might not be relevent in the current scenario (July filers), but what is the historical EAD processing time? I know they say that USCIS will issue one within 90 days, but does it always take 90 days or is lot lesser?
I remember when I got EAD during OPT, it took like 30-40 days on average. Does the same hold for the EAD for EB too?
