So this kid is a straight A student and is very bright. But he argues with his parents a lot and, like any other teenager, is disrespectful. Should any of these factors influence a parent's decision? On one hand, he has proven to be responsible, saving money and getting good grades. On the other hand, he's moody and often shuts himself off from the rest of the family.
Well no mater how you might feel about it, the thing is.. if a person really wants to do something, they will do it. If you don't allow it, he would probibly just do it behind your back. I think youd prefer him being straight forward.
Then you have the age thing, he is 18... and you can't exactly tell him no straight out; but since he (im assuming this part) still lives with you, you would be able to (from a legal point) say "if you do it, you aren't allowed to live here" - Would I take it that far? Nope. I think you should just trust your children; he's proven that hes an intelligent person. Just because hes disrespectful doesn't mean he would do anything stupid; I think all kids are disrepectful at some point anyway.

Try enabling Certificate Revocation checking on your fully updated Mac OS X install and see how long it takes for Mac App Store to show up and how long it then takes to go through the various tabs.
Also for fun - try enabling password for the screensaver and 60 minute idle logout. Then put your laptop to sleep and come back 60 min later only to have hung login window that accepts no input - works that way every time for me.
For all the jabs they took at Windows - Apple's is most untested OS after Linux distros. Looks like they only do surface tests - only the defaults are covered.

I hate these ridiculous statements. Samsung is a huge conglomerate that builds everything from microchips to 100 story sky scrapers. They don't need Apple to survive.

The only people who want to compare it that way are apple fans. The rest of the world rightfully compare it according to device. Smartphone OS to smartphone OS.

I've probably got the wrong end of the stick as usual, but I use the web access for iDisk that is already there - I haven't downloaded any applications at all for my work Windows laptop. Is this what you meant, or was there something else on top of this?Well kind of, but that's very limited. It doesn't support drag and drop, icon or column views, file previews, searching, .zip archiving and unarchiving, etc. In other words, all the goodies you get in a Finder window (including iDisk Finder windows). Using AJAX technologies, most of that should be possible, as they are doing for the Mail application. And as I said, making folders individually password-protectable (separate passwords, unlike now where it's one for the whole disk) is a priority for me.
