Unless all of the 10,000 immigrants are going to bring money from their respective countries to buy homes, it is not going to change anything signficantly. You are proposing to take the money that is in the system, i.e asking banks to lend you money. The current crisis is credit crunch. Banks dont have money. All they have is mortgage bonds. There are no takers of these bonds. They are becoming junk. So, if any money from outside flows in, there will be some difference.
I have listened to a couple of speaches by Bernake in NPR. Basically that guy is completely in the blank on how to handle the economy. He simply says, we are in this mess, because the lenders were very lenient. Fed measures such as interest rate cut and pumping money into the banking system is causing the dollar to fall thus further weakening the economy.

I have applied in EB2 category with job title of Sr. software engineer. and I have frnds who have applied for EB2 under, Programmer analyst, team lead.
But all of them had Master of science from USA.
And all of us have our I140 cleared and waiting to apply for I485 when its gets current.
Reno, could you please give us more information about your and your friends' experience :
- What your qualifications are.
What the Sr. software engineer job requirements were. Things like:
- Education
- Experience
and also more info about your experience with PERM:
- Processing center. Chicago or Atlanta?
- Processing time.
- Any audits?
- Any business necessity documentation requirements?
I know I'm asking for a lot of info but I think it would be extremely helpful for many folks who are preparing to file under EB2 to avoid regression.

My I485 is still pending (> 180 days filed on July27th '07). I have my renewed EAD valid for the next 2 years. I have been out of project for 4 months and my employer , who filed my GC, terminated my health coverage too. Iam using my COBRA option.
Recently, i have applied for a perm position using EAD . I explained to the client about by current status of GC. They wanted to know what they are supposed to do for it. I told them i need to 'invoke' a law called AC21.(pardon my ignorance if iam wrong) inorder to transfer my pending application.
Now the big question is, how do i initiate this whole process?
I really apreaciate all your suggestions.
Invoking AC21 is easy, but you need to know what you can expect and how to resolve it
(1) If you decided to change to new employer using EAD - there is nothing you need to do. Just join and work.
(2) As employer is asking what they need to do - tell them they need to provide an AC21 letter of support - you can find various formats on the web.
(3) Your new job must be in same or similar category.
(4) Call customer service to verify your address on file - also hire a personal attorney and make sure they file g 28 and have them on file too for USCIS communication
(5) Your AC21 letter may/may not reach your file depending on the service center, officer and a lot of other factors.
(6) Usually most AC21 cases go through just fine unless your ex employer requests a revoke on i 140 - in such a situation you may get an RFE, NOID or a straight denial on 485 - nothing to worry about - you can resolve all these and you will find yourself back on track.

Even if its multiplied by 100 we should be ok, if the USCIS does a good of not waisting visas by doing their best in the month of Sep. Say we have 6500 * 2 .25 (Family) = 15000people waiting from EB2 2004. Looking at the spillover numbers from last year, we might be lucky enough. Just trying to be optimistic for the next 35 days.
We received our 2nd biometric appointment notice for Sep 11th. Our Notice date is Sep 19th 2007. Just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for something good. :)

My case is even more complicated. I am working for Company A, valid H1, but no stamping. I applied GC thru company B and got AP/EAD.
I used AP twice for two trips, India and Bahamas. Just showed AP at POE, no issues at all.

The people who wants to be a part of American Society should first definately be a very open minded towards all cultures and social trends.
Other thing to be Indian or representing Indian traditions is not a crime but certainly every time barking against anything Indian may certainly be a crime as it is a clear indication of closed door or prejudicial mind towards one particular country and culture. Americans do not mind if one shows that he is Indian now and want to become in American future. Although they prefer that AND that is why they label Jindal as Indian-American although he born in USA. If there are majority Indians on IV board, it is not a crime but it is obvious. Some of my chienese friends on IV board may start thread for wishing chienese festival, I bet most Indians on this board will welcome and same goes with Muslim friends on IV board. Starting and wishing ED MUBARAK thread (By the way that is also a Indian tradition..And I am proud of that too) is not a crime and by now if nobody started it does not mean other people may not welcome it. Americans do not mind if one shows that he is Indian now and want to become in American future. Although they prefer that AND that is why they label Jindal as Indian-American although he born in USA. If there are majority Indians on IV board, it is not a crime but it is obvious. Some of my chienese friends on IV board may start thread for wishing chienese festival, I bet most Indians on this board will welcome and same goes with Muslim friends on IV board. Starting and wishing ED MUBARAK thread (By the way that is also a Indian tradition..And I am proud of that too) is not a crime and by now if nobody started it does not mean other people may not welcome it. If you are a Muslim, start the thread for ED Mubarak, I will be the first to welcome that step. You want to be American,, right? Then first start learning open mind and start respecting the culture of majority IV memebers first. If you would not start that now how will you settle yourself in cultural pot of the world?
If you are an Indian citizen right now take control over your inferiority complex and get over it because if you do not respect your culture or your tradition what guaranty would be there for Americans that you would respect American traditions in future. Even Americans are not fool. And how dare you pretend that people form China and other countries just stop supporting IV as they just see few threads celebrating Indian culture? So stop this bullshit now otherwise I may have to request moderators to ban you.

Like I said, I did all that, including deleting cookies, and still nothing.
I used IE and it worked. Mozilla browser still shows Apr 2007.
